The opportunity
Young women and young mothers can face overlapping barriers to learning and earning: household pressure, limited practical skills, weak support networks and psychological distress. A connected program can address several of those barriers while building practical capability.
Location: Kolfe Keraniyo Sub-city, Woreda 01, Addis Ababa.
Organization: Ye Ethiopia Addis Tesfa Charity Organization.
What a partnership would support
- Practical sewing training, equipment and working materials.
- Psychosocial support, safe-space sessions, mentoring and life skills.
- Nutrition support and limited support for dependent children.
- Participant selection, follow-up, monitoring and reporting.
The final scope, timing, amount and reporting terms should be agreed against the approved workplan and budget.
Experience to build on
The organization’s September 2024–February 2025 half-year report describes the selection of 20 single mothers, life-skills and beadwork training, food and hygiene support, health-insurance support and small-business preparation. It also describes Christian faith as central to the organization’s work.
These are historical, organization-reported activities. They are not evidence that the proposed sewing cohort has completed training or achieved income outcomes.
A clear basis for funding
The June 2026 one-year proposal states a total budget of ETB 6,228,275. This is a source-document figure, not a verified current fundraising target. The proposal contains rounding and pension/allocation inconsistencies that must be reconciled with the approved annex before use.
Current funding secured and the remaining funding gap have not been established. No sponsorship price or percentage funded is claimed in this draft.
Ways to participate
Partner with the whole cohort, contribute equipment and workshop materials, or support nutrition and limited child-related activities. Co-funding arrangements can be scoped around a defined budget line.
Accountability and learning
The proposed framework uses participant selection records, attendance, training progress, support-distribution records, procurement and inventory records, and quarterly activity and financial reporting. Confidential participant records should remain protected.
Success should be assessed through participation, skills developed, support delivered and responsible use of funds. Employment and income claims require follow-up evidence.
